Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme

Dear Westerham Society members,

As a group that is local to the Darent Valley area, I thought you and your members may like to share your views to help shape the projects we will be delivering through the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme over the next five years. Once fully underway from spring 2017,  there will be numerous opportunities for local communities and groups to get involved, enjoy and benefit from the Scheme.

The Kent Downs AONB has been allocated a grant of £2.1m from the Heritage Lottery Fund to conserve and celebrate this special landscape through a host of cultural, art, heritage, biodiversity, access and conservation projects. The scheme area stretches from Dartford marshes in the north then follows the course of the River Darent to its source at Westerham, passing through Horton Kirby, Farningham, Eynsford, Otford, Kemsing among other villages in the Darent Valley.

However, we need your help to make sure we get this right. We want to know what people think of the Darent Valley, what activities they undertake, where they go and what they like and may not like about it. The online survey is easy to follow, with most questions being tick box answers and it takes only 15 minutes to complete. As an added incentive, if you leave your contact details you will automatically be entered into a random prize draw to win one of a selection of prizes including a free family ticket to Lullingstone World Garden and two tickets to the Shoreham Midsummer Festival! The survey is open to everyone – local residents, organisations, visitors and also those that may not have heard of the Darent Valley but already visit the wider countryside. Please share your views with us to better shape what we will do over the next five years.

You can find the survey here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/darentvalley

For those on social media, why not follow us on Twitter www.twitter.com/darent_valley and like our Facebook page www.facebook.com/DVLPS to keep up to date.

Your help is much appreciated and good luck for the prize draw. Survey closing date is Sunday 11th April 2016.

Please feel free to share this email and survey link among family, friends, members and others to maximise the views captured about this beautiful part of Kent.
Thank you for your time and support and should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
