Colin Welch co-leads a team that has undetaken many excavations of V1 flying bombs and V2 rockets and the Talk will cover some detail of the weapons and the research into the V weapons offensive in 1944-1945, plus a report on the September 2024 excavation in Westerham. The discovery of a V2 rocket in Westerham is a fascinating part of our local history and the account of its excavation reads like a detective story. The story of the Westerham excavation will feature in a forthcoming ITV documentary. It is a Talk not to be missed.
