The weekend after this year’s particularly poignant centenary Remembrance Sunday, the magnificent voices of The London Welsh Male Voice Choir will be heard in concert at St Mary’s Church, Westerham. The Westerham Society is proud to present this concert that will include many of the choir’s firm favourites from their repetoire, as well as a few songs and readings especially chosen that will touch on the story of Westerham in the Great War. All money raised from the concert will go to the further development and upkeep of the Westerham Memorial Garden on The Grange.

We are delighted to welcome as special guest soloist with the choir for this concert Miss Katy Secombe. More often seen on the West End stage in musicals such as Les Miserables and Mamma Mia, Katy’s father, Sir Harry Secombe, had a long association with the choir, singing with them on many occasions.

The program will appeal to a whole range of musical tastes and include a moving tribute to all of the men who never returned called The Man We Never Knew. A piece of music written by their conductor/composer Edward-Rhys Harry and premiered earlier this year at a commemoration ceremony at the Tower of London.

Their conductor, Edward-Rhys Harry, is leading a special MaleVoice gala concert at the Albert Hall on October 15th, where 13 other international male voice choirs have been invited to join the London Welsh on stage. This sold out very quickly, so book your tickets for the Westerham concert early!
